Lolo Patch Notes
Lolo Patch Notes: June 27 to July 3, 2026
Lolo is like Find My Friends for your broader social, professional, and community graph. This week focused on making plans smarter, mobile navigation smoother, invite links cleaner, and the map more useful as the network gets denser.
Current numbers
- 11,048 signed-up users since launching in May 2026.
- 6,144 users activated on the map by creating a location ping.
- 4,803 active map pings showing live presence density across the network.
- 2,233 average weekly active users across the latest four full UTC weeks.
- 55.6% signup-to-map activation based on signed-up users who have created a ping.

Two of the visible upgrades this week: faster Smart Plans creation and a clearer map/ping flow for seeing who is around.
What shipped
- Smart Plans got smarter about place requests: prompts like “cocktails near Alamo Drafthouse” and “cocktail bar near Williamsburg Cinema” now preserve the reference location better, search around the intended area, and avoid treating the anchor itself as the destination.
- Smart Plans added Remix: users can ask for alternate venue suggestions without starting over, making it easier to turn “who’s around?” into a plan that actually fits the group.
- Messages got native-feeling swipe-back: Messages, 1:1 threads, and group chats now support left-edge swipe-back navigation, including an interactive visual drag instead of only jumping back after the gesture.
- Invite and join links got cleaner: Lolo’s join/invite landing flow now uses real invite branding, a clearer App Store-style screenshot carousel, and sharper copy: “Turn who’s around into here’s the plan.”
- Smart Plan location prompts were cleaned up: opening Smart Plans should no longer trigger an eager web-style location permission prompt; location should be requested when it is actually needed for an action.
What improved
- Notifications got more polished: the opt-in prompt was redesigned with clearer value, and a timezone-based Smart Plans notification rotation began testing different copy and timing bands.
- Mobile release readiness improved: iOS 1.0.6 work was marked done, App Store screenshots/admin were marked done, and contact-sharing work continued behind native-build gates so it can roll out safely.
- Smart Plans lifecycle behavior improved behind the scenes: plan, join, message, and ping flows received lifecycle/presence work so coordination can stay connected to people’s current city-level presence without expanding visibility beyond their existing settings.
- Map scaling stayed a priority: security and efficiency work hardened sensitive API access, cleaned up unused code paths, and continued the broader effort to make dense maps faster, safer, and less cluttered.
- Profile/account details became clearer: linked email display was fixed so users can better understand which identities are connected to their Lolo account.
Growth/community notes
- Lolo passed 11,000 signed-up users: the latest internal snapshot showed 11,048 signed-up users, 6,144 people who had activated on the map, 4,803 active map pings, and roughly 2,233 average weekly active users across the latest four full UTC weeks.
- Micro-plan growth tests started: Lolo created the first wave of lightweight public plans in São Paulo, Bogotá, Jakarta, and NYC, with in-app notifications sent to nearby users. This is still an early experiment and needs more data before conclusions.
- World/community activation moved forward: the current push is to position Lolo as an IRL network for World users and test event/community activations, including the Lisbon / ETHGlobal opportunity.
- Circles are moving back into focus: as Lolo talks to organizations and communities, Circles need to become more useful for group identity, filtering, discovery, invites, and Smart Plans coordination.
What’s next
- Make dense maps feel personal: improve manual and automatic filtering so users see friends, Circles, contacts, X friends, and relevant broader-network people before random nearby noise.
- Keep improving notification conversion: continue Smart Plans notification tests, improve attribution from send → open → plan/friend/ping action, and avoid over-sending until the winning patterns are clearer.
- Validate the micro-plan experiment: watch reads, RSVPs, and pull-up confirmations before turning it into a daily growth loop or adding true OS push.
- Keep mobile shareability tight: continue polishing invite links, referral/Circle links, contact-based friend discovery, and app-store handoffs so sharing Lolo feels natural from group chats, DMs, and events.
- Boost Circles for communities: improve Circle creation, invite/join flows, map filtering, org-facing demos, and Smart Plans/event integration.
