A social map should feel ready the moment you return. This week, Lolo made its entry path more direct, brought recent maps and conversations back faster, and cleaned up the referral experience.

What shipped

Phone-first sign-in: Lolo now shows the phone number field immediately, giving new and returning users a direct path to request a one-time code. Apple, World ID, and Google remain available as additional sign-in options.
Faster returns to the map: recent map context can appear while fresh data loads, including the previous view, boundaries, people, and plans. This reduces the blank wait at the start of a return visit.
Faster returns to conversations: recent chat lists and active threads can paint from a privacy-scoped local snapshot before they refresh in the background.
A cleaner referral leaderboard: the full leaderboard now starts with the top 10. People can expand it when they want the complete loaded list, while search still shows every matching result.

What improved

Safer phone account linking: established users can explicitly enable phone sign-in after verifying a fresh code. Lolo keeps contact discoverability separate from permission to use a number as an account credential.
Helpful reminders for existing accounts: people who joined with another method and have not linked a phone can now see a focused prompt after onboarding instead of discovering the gap later.
Private local speed: cached map and chat snapshots are tied to the signed-in account, cleared on sign-out or account deletion, and refreshed against current data.
Dependency maintenance: behind-the-scenes updates cleared current high and moderate package advisories while preserving the existing product experience.
